OR! maybe we could just replace the tanks!

http://www.buyplumbing.net/?pg=pd&_i=ST416M03

there's a dual flush tank for $90, i just don't know how to tell if it'll fit all bowls. ughh
not dual flush but it's 1.6 gpf 10" rough-in for $99

looks like we also need to remove 1 fridge. i vote for produce. what do you think? joe do you still have the info for the people that take it away?
i called northeast environmental testing about the water; for $20 they'll do a 1-liter 0-flush (water that's been sitting in pipes all night) and for $30 they'll do both that and a 5 min-flush (run water for 5 min. then fill up bottle.) it seems to me that if the overnight water's bad, we need to get the filter, so we could just do the 0-flush. we'd drop it off there and they'd give us results in a week.

but also we should just get a water filter at least for the kitchen, that does lead + the shit the city puts in. fluoride's great for growing teeth but my innards sure don't want it.

also i'm looking into dual-flush toilets (1.6/1.1 gpf) like this one:

but we need some for 10/11" rough-ins. i'm still looking but ya'll should ask about them at home depot just in case.

milkshakes, boys, the yard

rough-in measurements for toilets:

1st: 11"
2nd boys: 11"
2nd girls: 12"
3rd: 11" (11.5" really)

First floor bathroom lighting

So, how are we going to fix that lamp in the first floor bathroom? It's obviously messed up and I'm tired of using that bathroom in the dark.

Toilets again

Okay, so we're probably going to get a toilet soon for the second floor bathroom. What to get, what to get? Tyler seems to have gotten a Home Depot quote for a $99 toilet but of what caliber would a toilet of this price range be. Some preliminary internet searches bring up a few salient points:
-A toilet may be one piece or two pieces (tank and bowl); two piece is cheaper
-A larger trapway will reduce clogging
-Flush system can be by gravity (low maintenance) or with air pressure (higher maintenance)
-Standard is 1.6 gallons
-American Standard, Kohler and Toto are good brands
-Round or elongated bowls, round have better vortex action
-Make sure toilet has passed ASME standards

Also, we need to measure the rough-in (usually 12"-14") in order to buy a toilet (which is the distance from the wall to the first bolt of the toilet).
