Okay, so we're probably going to get a toilet soon for the second floor bathroom. What to get, what to get? Tyler seems to have gotten a Home Depot quote for a $99 toilet but of what caliber would a toilet of this price range be. Some preliminary internet searches bring up a few salient points:
-A toilet may be one piece or two pieces (tank and bowl); two piece is cheaper
-A larger trapway will reduce clogging
-Flush system can be by gravity (low maintenance) or with air pressure (higher maintenance)
-Standard is 1.6 gallons
-American Standard, Kohler and Toto are good brands
-Round or elongated bowls, round have better vortex action
-Make sure toilet has passed ASME standards
Also, we need to measure the rough-in (usually 12"-14") in order to buy a toilet (which is the distance from the wall to the first bolt of the toilet).

So are we going to return the one purchased last week? Did anyone physically check the rough-in distance or are we just assuming that a 12" toilet will not fit in ~11.5" of space?
I think we're going to have to go back and get the 10" toilet instead. The old toilet was tight at 11 1/4" rough in. When are you going to be free this week (since you got it on your card), eh?
